Oil undercoating began over a century ago. Applying grease and engine oil to outdoor equipment to slow the oxidation process. Times have changed. Sheep's wool contains a natural grease called lanolin. When extracted and processed , lanolin makes a great rust inhibitor. It's a greasy substance. You can expect these coatings to remain w
Oil undercoating began over a century ago. Applying grease and engine oil to outdoor equipment to slow the oxidation process. Times have changed. Sheep's wool contains a natural grease called lanolin. When extracted and processed , lanolin makes a great rust inhibitor. It's a greasy substance. You can expect these coatings to remain wet. Slowly washing off over time. Some areas will need reapplied for maximum protection. Once every year or so is a good time frame. However areas that rot from the inside out and don't see any road wash last almost indefinitely. This is referred to as cavity waxing. Rockers, cab corners and the dreaded rear wheel wells all get a healthy dose of our secret sauce, lanolin.
